Job Title: Husbandry Technician II

This position performs first line basic care, feeding, and husbandry of all species of animals used in research at Creighton University in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations and standards. Must keep precise records of research procedures and results, and communicate these to the Principal Investigator and laboratory personnel. Perform biochemical and molecular biological processing and analysis of biological tissue specimens using established procedures and protocols. Maintain and communicate experimental protocols, results, and analysis. Interface with both internal and external resources as appropriate to obtain technical directive and advice. Help train and supervise the activities of other full- or part-time laboratory research staff including students and technicians. Maintain training and continuing education and regard to laboratory and chemical safety, radiation safety, and animal care and use. Inventory and order laboratory supplies and reagents. Preparation of common laboratory reagents. Perform routine laboratory procedures and maintain laboratory records. Interface with departmental or university personnel as required.
