Job Title: Animal Technician 4 Company: Yale University Location: New Haven, CT Description: 1. Design, construct, assemble, test and install existing and newly developed and specialized equipment and systems in washing centers and other designated areas.2. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair washing center equipment including, rack, tunnel and bottle washers, autoclaves and gas sterilizers, bedding dispensers, automated cage waste disposal vacuum systems and animal automatic water delivery systems and sanitation components. Oversee maintenance of rodent euthanasia equipment. Maintain activity logs and records. 3. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair animal life support systems including aquatic systems, automatic water systems, individually ventilated cage (IVC) systems and computerized lighting controls and monitoring systems. Troubleshoot and assist with development of new machinery and equipment to meet operational requirements4. Recommend and implement design enhancements and improvements to machinery and equipment to support and ensure maximum efficiency. Develop and evaluate performance and reliability of equipment.5.
