Job Summary: To provide essential support services in the equipment washing and sterilization areas by processing equipment through disassembly, wash, assembly and sterilization, including the handling and transporting of materials, supplies and multiple species as well as basic care and use activities such as spot checks, equipment changing, equipment and room sanitization as well as supply provisioning. Job Duties: * Maintain the proper and safe operation of and ensure sanitization of specialized facility equipment including the use of automated wash systems, automated systems for delivery and removal of consumables, rack washers, purified automated watering systems and autoclaves for sterilization. Makes sure that equipment is working properly using biological monitoring devices and techniques. * Safe operation of manual disassembly and assembly tables. * Conducting general cleaning and housekeeping of processing wash and service areas, including washing walls, air vents, sinks, doors and doorframes and material handling equipment. Reports maintenance needs. * Maintain accurate documentation of all processes, inventories of consumables and equipment processing supplies. * Maintain working knowledge of and comply with all relevant safety procedures, RSF Standard Operating Procedures and Material Safety Data Sheets. * Participate in safety program and Safety Improvement Team, participate in First Alert Team (optional). * Be able to receive and process incoming murine models and supplies using the data management system, and may transport models within the RSF and to the SSF facility. * Assemble caging supplies with properly sterilized consumables and water in a manner that assures they remain sterile throughout the handling process. * May provide guidance and training to new processing technicians. * Performs routine procedures on laboratory models according to the AVMA guidelines. * Comply with RSF and regulatory policies as well as standard operating procedures. * Other job duties as deemed necessary by management.
