A regular part-time Veterinary Director/Attending Veterinarian is needed to help provide management and oversight of the animal facilities at MWRI. This position will typically involve working 20 to 30 hours per week, with availability to respond to animal emergencies at any time. The Veterinary Director/Attending Veterinarian works in accordance with management and accrediting agency rules and guidelines to provide support for the animal research programs in MWRI as well as enhance the research and teaching missions of the institute. This individual will work closely with the Facility Manager and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IAACUC) to provide veterinary expertise and training to investigators, animal care staff, and technical staff in the form of formal instruction and ongoing guidance. Responsibilities: ? Provides veterinary medical diagnostic, surgical, and treatment services within the animal facilities, including oversight of quarantine procedures ? Maintains compliance with laboratory animal care standards and regulatory requirements ?
