MRI is currently looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to work in a team environment to conduct mammalian toxicology/safety studies. Basic functions include animal husbandry, performing technical procedures as directed by the study protocol, and ensuring that equipment and supplies necessary to conduct these studies are available. Tasks at the Principal Technician level may vary widely. Specific tasks assigned typically depend upon the needs of the section and the training and experience of the individual. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 7 years of college or relevant experience (veterinary technician training preferred). Experience in a laboratory environment handling animals and performing technical procedures; GLP experience preferred Ability to work with limited supervision. PC skills (Word, Excel) and ability to learn new software and systems. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with technical staff at all levels in a team-based environment. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and be well organized, analytical, and flexible to adjust to priorities. Ability to work evenings and weekends; willing to travel (travel minimal).
