Kennel Attendant Jobs

In this highly visible role, you will take ownership over the maintenance of our animal colony and work independently as you help shape the cutting edge of surgical medical devices.

We will look to you to actively coordinate animal colony schedules, inventory, shipping and receiving, as well as maintain laboratory records. You will be working closely with the veterinary technicians and veterinarians in an assorted array of duties which include, but are not limited to, maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animal colony, washing-down kennels, disinfecting kennels, daily feeding, administering medications to the animals, making daily observations of colony animals, maintaining animal records, facility records, bathing animals as needed, and reporting any abnormalities of the animal colony to the attending veterinarian. Other duties may include assisting the veterinarian with animal exams and assisting staff with animal care and restraining.

Your ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English and maintain regular and predictable attendance will be crucial in this role. The position requires the availability to work weekends, weekdays, and occasional holidays. The hourly pay rate for an animal care technician is $10-$15 per hour based on previous experience and/or completed education. The availability to work over time is often required. You must be able to lift up to 31 kilograms (68 lbs) and possess the full range of motion required to properly handle and restrain medium sized canines.
