Job Title: Experienced Pet Stylist/Groomers Needed! Animal and Pet Care Company: Kennelwood Pet Resort Location: Saint Peters, MO Description: Kennelwood Seeks Experienced Groomers and Stylists for its St. Peters location. Assist Grooming Instructors with quality control for new Groom Technicians and provide support and mentoring to new GT's during initial training period. Address customer satisfaction concerns & report findings to manager weekly. Attend the required Safety Handling Class to ensure all safety concerns are addressed Work in an organized, hygienic manner, maintaining equipment & work area While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions Primarily working inside temperature controlled building. Employees must have the ability to work in and around animal hair and dander. Generally well-lighted with high noise levels (i.e. animals barking, machine running, etc.) Stylists will be expected to work with water, animal hair/dander, chemicals (colognes, shampoos, conditioners) and live animals on a daily basis. Will clean up animal urine or feces frequently. Hours are between 7am and last appointment. Commissioned position. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS

This is a unique opportunity to come in at entry level and work your way up to grooming full-time!You will be trained by our styling school instructor one-on-one or through small group instruction during a comprehensive, paid, 14-week stylist course after proving yourself as a groom tech. Students are tested weekly on breed standards, balance and structure, customer service, and basic health issues of the pet, as well as other topics. Safe grooming skills are taught and emphasized. All-breed "hand scissoring" finishes are also taught, techniques which are not always included in many grooming schools. Must be kind, compassionate, hard-working, and reliable. Fast-paced, fun environment. Previous knowledge of dog breeds and handling is a plus! Paid hourly rate as groom tech and during stylist training; stylist are paid commission when they graduate.
