Job Description: New Specialty Hospital in Round Rock, Texas looking for assitants, mid-shift and overnight technicians.
Some Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Nursing care and treatment of patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Surgical Service according to the Veterinarians daily treatment plan. This includes, but is not limited to, medication administration, diagnostics, wound care, general patient care, observation, and feeding.
Perform radiographs as requested by veterinarian. Collect specimens and perform lab work as needed. Handle financial responsibilities such as processing payments for services. Prepare animals, instruments, and equipment for surgery; assist with surgical procedures, monitoring, and clean up afterwards. Administer post operation pain medications. Put up and take down ‘Do Not Feed’ signs on surgery patients who are boarding. Walk through the kennel at least 3 times through out the shift to check boarding patients for distress. Ensure boarding patients have plenty of water, and move boarding patients or clean cages as needed. Do laundry as needed. Perform additional duties on the project list or perform doctor or technician services for boarding patients when case volume is low. Perform any additional tasks as needed by the Practice Manager, Veterinarian, or any other member of the Management Team. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE IS A MUST!
