Research Technician 1Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical CenterBoston- Department: Cardiovascular Research- Part-time20hrs / wk, Mon - Fri, Hours TBD- All shifts available- 1-2 years experience is preferred.Job Description:The candidate should be familiar with or be willing to be trained in the following skills: breeding and maintenance of mice, small animal surgery, histological analysis of animal specimens requiring tissue collection, fixation and embedding into paraffin or OCT, the use of microtomes and cryostats for the sectioning of paraffin-embedded & frozen tissue, processing of tissue sections for histological or immunohistological staining, microscopic analysis using bright field, fluorescent and confocal microscopes.Qualifications:BS or equivalent, 0-2 years experience
